Each course combines live instruction, guided discussion, and independent work. The format holds across every course.

What the certificate requires.

Twelve courses in all, completed over about one year. The path is clear and the requirements are set.

Core courses

Required for every student. Aqeedah, Fiqh, Hadith, Tafsir, Seerah, Islamic History, plus Qur'an and Arabic.

Electives

Your choice. Each can be a full 14-week course, or two 7-week short courses that count as one.

Capstone project

A paper or a community project, reviewed by an external committee and presented in public.

The Capstone

The capstone.

The final requirement. Students apply their learning to a real-world context, with academic advising throughout. Every capstone is reviewed by an external committee and presented in public.

Academic paper

A written work that applies the methods and questions studied across the certificate. Topic chosen with an advisor.

Community project

An interfaith event, a workshop, or a public presentation that serves the wider community.
